Description
This facsimile contains a reproduction of the original proposal by John Rocque, list of subscribers, an index and key map and the map itself on 16 sheets (in a four wide, four high matrix). Introduction by James Howgego, Keeper of Prints and Pictures, Guildhall Library. If put together with edges trimmed, it will cover an area of approximately 2.64 x 1.92 m or 8’8” x 6’4” (W x H). Note that each sheet is slightly different in size, due to the original and also differing paper shrinkage during the original printing.

The image below is that of the Key Map that shows the area of London that this 16 sheet map covers.
Please be aware that the card-bound version of this map is out of print and so only the loose sheet version is available.
